The Lightner Museum offers a special guided tour each Wednesday throughout the summer of 2026. From 11:00 a.m. to noon, an experienced guide leads a group of 10 or fewer guests throughout the museum, highlighting the architecture and features of Henry Flagler's second luxury hotel in St. Augustine.

The Alcazar

Flagler originally designed the Alcazar to provide an entertainment and sports annex for guests at the Ponce de Leon, his flagship hotel. He revised the design to add guest rooms and create an additional hotel at a slightly lower price point. The amenities included Turkish baths, massage services, a large indoor swimming pool, and bicycle-riding lessons. Guests from the Ponce could enjoy all the amenities at the Alcazar, but guests of the Alcazar could not dine at the luxurious Ponce de Leon Hotel.
