The Aqua East Surf Shop will be hosting the 3rd Annual Aqua East Grom Fest over the weekend of October 11 to 13, 2019.  Each day will feature a different challenge, from skating on Friday to surfing on Saturday and wake boarding on Sunday.

All ages and skill levels are encouraged to hop on their boards and ride out the weekend. Aqua East Skate Team, Stoked to Surf, And Tommy's Wakesurf Tour will offer Learn to Ride opportunities for groms to learn to surf, skate, and wake board.

There will be a photo contest for all ages and a Trifecta Challenger for enthusiasts who would like to compete in all three events. Additionally, Vans will sponsor a clean up following each event, with hats, bags, and more for everyone who chips in.

Friday, October 11 — Skate Jam

The Skate Jam is free and will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Robert-Laryn Skate Park at Treaty Park, located at 1595 Wildwood Dr. in St. Augustine, FL 32086.  There will be freed pizza from Mellow Mushroom, music by Volcom's SJ Dane, and lots of free swag from sponsors, including Nixon, Hurley, Sector 9, Santa Cruz, Billabong, and more. Saturday, October 12 — Surf Contest

The Surf Contest will take place at the Southside St. Johns County Ocean Pier (350 A1A Beach Blvd in St. Augustine FL 32080) beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12. All skill levels and ages are welcome. First place winners will win cash from Aqua East, Quilsilver, Roxy, RVCA, and Palm Leaf Dental. Prizes will be given out from Billabong, Cobian, Dakin, Nixon, Hurley, O'Neill, and more.

Push-ins are available for grams eight and under to give younger surfers some extra support. First-time surfers are welcome and Stoked to Surf instructors will be giving free surfing lessons. Volcom's DJ Dane will emcee the surf contest, and there will be beach games to win free shirts, hats, and more. For even more swag, Vans is hosting a beach clean-up at 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, October 13, 2019 — Wake Contest

Sunday's Wake Contest is sponsored by Tommy's and will take place beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Palm Valley Outdoor Bar and Grill (377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082). First time wake surfers, wakeboarders, and wakeskaters are welcome to compete and experience the ride behind a Malibu Boat. Spectators are welcome to bring a chair and watch from the Palm Valley Outdoor Bar and Grill or even watch from a boat on the water.

Admission:

The Skate Jam is free.

Participation in the Surf Contest is $35.00 per person, which applies to all the age and gender categories (8 and under, Girls 9 - 11, Boys 9 - 11, Girl 12 - 14, Boys 12 - 14, Junior Women 17 and Under, Junior Men 17 and Under, and Sandy Forsyth Longboard).

The Wake Contest is also $35.00 per person to participate in any of the following groups:  Girls 11 and Under, Girls 12 - 17, Boys 14 and Under, Boys 15 - 17, 18 and Older, Wakeboard, Wakesurf Novice, Wakesurf Advanced, and Wakeskate.

For the truly adventurous, participation in the Trifecta (all three events over three days) is $65.00 for Ages 9 - 11, Ages 12 - 14, and Junior Open.

When: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 11, 12, and 13, 2019. Skate Jam is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Surf Contest begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, and Wake Tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 13.
