Lightner: Sit + Sketch

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. local, nationally acclaimed artist Martha Ferguson leads a workshop on still-life sketching. The event takes place in the main lobby of the Lighter Museum.

For this workshop, Martha Ferguson arranges a still-life display and provides a short demonstration sharing techniques about form, light, and composition. You will create your own sketch while Martha provides individual feedback and guidance. 

The Lightner Museum will arrange seating and tabletop easels, and you must bring your supplies. Those could include graphite pencils, colored pencils, pastels, fine-tip pens, and watercolor paints. This event is the third in the series. You are not required to have attended the other events, and you are encouraged to review the topics discussed during Beginning Drawing Introduction and Beginning Drawing Part 2.
