Active since 1980, Lovett blends country, Americana, swing, jazz, and blues into a sound that’s distinctly his own. Though he earned a journalism degree from Texas A&M University, music proved to be his true passion, leading him to perform at local venues before signing with MCA Records in 1986. His self-titled debut album introduced a unique mix of contemporary and traditional influences that set the tone for his career.
Lovett’s achievements include four Grammy Awards, an Esky Music Award, and induction into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. His discography features Lyle Lovett, Pontiac, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, Joshua Judges Ruth, I Love Everybody, The Road to Ensenada, Step Inside This House, My Baby Don’t Tolerate, It’s Not Big It’s Large, Natural Forces, Release Me, and his latest release, 12th of June.
