On Select Saturdays, when the moon is full or nearly full, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR) provides access to a self-guided trail walk by moonlight, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. 

Event Details

Bring a headlamp or flashlight to experience the peaceful natural beauty of the GTMNERR at night. This is a self-guided event, suitable for a quiet and reflective walk while viewing the natural habitats of this rare property. 

About GTMNERR

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve is a protected stretch of land consisting of wetlands and estuaries on Florida's East Coast that actively works to maintain and help preserve the natural landscape of Florida. The GTMNERRs volunteers and employees are dedicated to preserving this unspoiled, undeveloped natural treasure and to supporting a vibrant ecosystem and its subsystems.

Admission: $10.00 per person in advance online; $20.00 in cash only at the trailhead.

When: From 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 2, and Saturday, June 27, 2026

Where: At the trailhead, 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida 32082

Parking: Drive past the Environmental Education Center, and pay $3.00 per car at the gate. The trailhead is past the dam, west of the public parking area.
