River and Beach Walk

Visitors will learn about plants, birds, and more on this guided nature walk.

Fort Matanzas National Monument will host two guided River and Beach Walks in February 2017. These walks will lead guests through the ecosystems within the Fort Matanzas National Monument, where a National Park Service volunteer will speak about the animals and plants that inhabit this unique environment.

All ages are welcome to participate in these low-impact walks. Proper preparations are recommended, and guests should wear comfortable, close-toed shoes, as well as sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Binoculars and water are also recommended.

Admission: FREE

When: Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 11 a.m., and Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled walk times.

Where: Fort Matanzas National Monument is located at 8635 A1A South in St. Augustine, FL 32080.
