The Smithereens at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents The Smithereens on Saturday, March 20, 2027, at 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Smithereens, active since 1980, are best known for their string of memorable hits such as "A Girl Like You," "Blood and Roses," "Behind the Wall of Sleep," "Only a Memory," "Blues Before and After," "House We Used to Live In," and "Too Much Passion." Rooted in alternative rock, power pop, college rock, and hard rock, the band's sound draws heavily on Buddy Holly, The Who, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and others.

New Jersey natives Jim Babjak, Mike Mesaros, and Dennis Diken first honed their craft playing New York clubs before signing with Enigma Records. Their songs have appeared in numerous film and television soundtracks, including Dangerously Close, Burglar, Encino Man, Timecop, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Boys Don't Cry, and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. 

The band has also been nominated for induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. The Smithereens' discography includes Especially for You, Green Thoughts, 11, Blow Up, A Date with The Smithereens, God Save The Smithereens, Meet The Smithereens!, Christmas with The Smithereens, B-Sides- The Beatles, The Smithereens Play Tommy, 2011, and The Lost Album.

Local Box Office: As of August 1, 2025, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box office is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week, and they sell tickets to performances at PVCH and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. You can also purchase tickets for shows at both venues at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office on Anastasia Island, 1340 A1A South in St. Augustine, Florida 32080.
