St. Augustine played a surprising role during the American Revolution. The free St. Augustine & the Birth of America Walking Tour takes you through the Historic District of St. Augustine, including the Castillo de San Marcos, the City Gate, and several of the oldest properties, while you learn about Colonial East Florida, which was loyal to the British.

The stories include information about prisoners of war held in what was then Fort Marion (now the Castillo de San Marcos), rebels supporting the revolution who hid in buildings here in St. Augustine, and where the British loyalists lived.

This is a free group tour. If you would like to learn about their private VIP St. Augustine & the Birth of America Walking Tour, call (904) 825-0087 for their rates and schedule, or visit the St. Augustine City Walks website.
