(904) 254-9524In honor of Memorial Day, the St. Augustine Film Society hosts a screening of the historical drama Old Heart (2025) on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. This event partners with Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans' Nursing Home.
Adapted from the award-winning novel by Peter Ferry, this heartfelt story shows how an American soldier, Tom Johnson, and a young girl, Sarah van Praag, join forces during WWII. Their love affair blooms through their resistance to providing supplies across Nazi lines. Set 60 years after the war, Tom takes off to Amsterdam in hopes of finding Sarah. The film explores themes of mixed-race relationships, cultural boundaries, and eldercare.
One of the film's actresses, Zaneta Adams, leads a Q&A discussion afterwards.
