St. Augustine Film Society: Wings of Desire
(904) 254-9524The St. Augustine Film Society hosts a screening of the fantasy and romance work, Wings of Desire (1987), on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Limelight Theatre.
This award-winning and nominated film is written and directed by Wim Wenders. The poetic fable tells an interesting story about two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, who roam around West Berlin providing comfort to those in need. While only visible to those similar to them and children, Damiel decides he wants to become human after falling in love with a trapeze artist. It begs the question: would one risk everything to feel raw emotion and the fragility of life for romance?
Jim Gilmore, a Cinematic Arts professor from Flagler College, will be the moderator and guest lecturer.
Admission: $10.00 for the public. St. Augustine Film Society members are free.
When: Friday, February 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
