EMMA Concert Association presents another in their series of free events, "Words and Music at the Waterworks," on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Skin & Bonz, a trio of local musicians, bring their energy and knowledge of traditional music to the Waterworks stage. Joy D'Elia and her husband Tommy Bledsoe are two of St. Augustine's most dedicated proponents of the arts and have played music together in St. Augustine for decades. With Kathe O'Donnelly on guitar, they bring old-fashioned country to all generations at local events and in schools.
Tommy plays banjo, sings, and calls out the dance steps. Joy sings and plays bass, and Kathe sings and plays guitar. Skin & Bonz play old songs—mostly bluegrass and folk. Tommy is a Florida Old-Time Banjo Champion, and the three vocalists alternate with lead and harmony. Their sound is a cross between comforting old-time or folk tunes and lively traditional dance songs.
EMMA Concert Association's commitment to education and promoting the arts has led them to create the Words and Music Series, a mixture of music, spoken word performances, and theatre. Throughout the season, EMMA presents diverse artists in free performances at the Waterworks.
Admission: Free. There is limited seating at the Waterworks, so plan to arrive early.
When: Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks, 184 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida.
