Locally based, Naum describes themselves as an aggressive indie rock group. They play mostly original music, with a few covers from bands such as Sum 41 and The Runaways.

From Enterprise to St. Augustine

Once a two-piece that ripped up the Alabama underground, Naum has calmed down over the years and found a home in St. Augustine. Along with their relocation to the Ancient City in 2020, guitarist Tristan Leahy and drummer John Oden have since welcomed bass player, Alec Stephens, and keyboardist, Grace Karger, to a new evolution of their band. Usually found performing at local alt haunts, Naum has been taking the scene by storm. They play often in St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Gainesville and have also toured up and down the East Coast.

Dynamic Sound, Honest Lyrics

Naum’s original songs contain ever-changing tempos and infectious melodies — push boundaries without sacrificing listen-ability. Lyrics range from wholesome “I find / So much joy in the little things / I know / That you’re feeling the same as me” to supportive “Just trust the process / I know it seems unbearable / But child love will carry you home" to downright absurd "Jeans tattoo me." Along with their original songs (which will soon be released in a full studio album), Naum also performs the occasional cover of popular rock and indie songs. As a band and as individuals, Naum is committed to building community in Florida's DIY scene of and beyond.
