The Palmetto Pickers honor St. Augustine with a reprisal of familiar tunes and originals. One thing about a group of older musicians who form a new band—they have had time to accumulate a lot of years onstage. This country, rock, and blues band, The Palmetto Pickers, is a re-formed gaggle of experienced musicians who know how to please a crowd.

Fronted by Deandra James, who morphed from the role of her husband's band manager to being a front woman, brings a soulful and gritty sound to the microphone. She mixes well with easy vocals from Dallas James, a songwriter with many years of band road experience, now on lead guitar and vocals.

On pedal steel guitar, is Frank Freniere, with more than 30 years of experience in the Chicago area. The band's drummer is Chris Shary, with more than five decades of experience crossing the Christian, country, blues, and rock genres. Dan Pillen, known by locals around St. Augustine for his work with various bands, sings background vocals along with his bass guitar.
