Patty PerShayla
A powerhouse voice and fearless bass-driven rock that shouts big truths.
Patty PerShayla is a force of nature wrapped in a five-foot-two frame; a singer, bassist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose presence hits long before the lights do. Michigan-born and now Nashville-based, she has carved out a singular space in modern rock by pairing a thunderous, unmistakable voice with fearless performances that balance swagger, vulnerability, and sharp wit. Even perched on one leg in platform heels, bass nearly spanning her wingspan, she commands rooms with equal parts humor and defiance.
At the heart of her work is storytelling that refuses to flinch. PerShayla’s songs wrestle openly with gender expectations, imposter syndrome, trauma, and surviving it all, delivered with lyrics that can cut deep or invite a shout-along. Her sound pulls from blues, punk, pop, and grunge, shaped by a lifetime of self-directed learning and relentless gigging, from brewery corners to festival stages.
She fronts the blues-rock power trio Patty PerShayla & The Mayhaps, whose releases Cheap Diction and the award-winning EP Perpetual Motion Machine (2023) earned WYCE radio 88.1 FM Jammie Awards, and a reputation for riff-driven intensity. Her solo work began with Oracle Bones, also a Jammie winner, and continues to evolve with experimental projects like Sad Girl, blending ukulele, grit, and dark humor. Beyond her own music, PerShayla is the lead vocalist and keyboardist for the Rush tribute band YYNOT and has toured as a multi-instrumentalist with acclaimed Americana group The Accidentals.
A former small-town pageant queen who once wrote Harry Potter parody songs, Patty PerShayla is entirely self-made: a self-employed musician since 2018, content creator, illustrator, band manager, and visual artist. Whether calling out injustice or simply making space for big feelings, she performs with integrity, honesty, and an unwavering commitment to community.
