Sauce Boss

An original act, Sauce Boss feeds the audience with song and gumbo.

Bill Wharton, AKA "Sauce Boss," offers a uniquely original performance. His music gets the audience moving, his act keeps them smiling, and his home-made gumbo feeds them.

As a musician, Bill writes original songs, including the Albert Castiglia hit, "Let the Big Dog Eat," and performs on stage as a one-man band. Bill sits at a drum set, playing a 1933 National Steel Guitar, belting out songs punctuated by a gravelly voice, joyful whoops, and shredding guitar riffs.

Originally from New England, Bob traveled throughout his career, eventually settling in St. Augustine. He's played guitar since high school, concentrating even then on two genres: Americana and Irish music. He enjoys listening to many different artists and feels that his music is most influenced by singer/songwriters including Woody Guthrie, Donovan, Bob Dylan, Bob Zentz, and Tom Paxton, while listening to the Dubliners led to his interest in Irish music.

Lauren Heintz

Lauren Heintz, winner of the South Florida Folk Festival Song Contest, captivates the audience.

Florida-born Lauren Heintz has won the South Florida Folk Festival Song Contest twice. As a singer, songwriter, and skillful guitarist, she's a triple threat. Though her father was a country music guitarist, Lauren didn't show an interest in the guitar until encouraged by one of her other relatives, who wanted her to play in his country band. However, Lauren's burgeoning music career was put on hold while she spent eight years in the Air Force, followed by college and then fifteen as a software engineer.

Frankie Jay and the Chicken Parade

Frankie Jay brings musicians together to play his heartfelt and often humorous songs.

"What the heck is Frankie Jay and the Chicken Parade?" one might ask. It's a curious group of like-minded musicians with a particular sense of humor and humanity. Frank Julian, AKA Frankie Jay, leads the parade, followed closely by Curtis Wayne Schaper on bass, Pasco Paul Belmore on dobro, and Ron Townsend on percussion. At any performance, other musicians may march along with the parade, always in time and frequently providing harmony.

Sugarfoot

This mother and son duo each have their own acts, though they still perform together as there is time.

Sugarfoot is the endearing name for a mother/son duo, Elaine and Sam Mahon.

Elaine Mahon, born in Gainesville, literally reached for the stars twice: first, when she earned her Ph.D. in extragalactic astronomy, and later when she left that career to write and perform her music. In fact her most recent and third album, released in 2017, is titled Reach for the Stars. Like her previous albums, the songs in this more recent one focus on life and love, but also offers hope from an astrological perspective.

Artist, musician, songwriter — Michael Reno Harrell added storyteller to his impressive resume a couple or more decades ago. As he has said, I got "paid to sing and draw pictures. Then … I discovered that there were people who made a living telling stories and I decided to jump in feet first."
