Solarium at Flagler College

  • Flagler College was once one of the world's most exclusive hotels. Hotel Ponce de Leon was completed in 1888, and built by millionaire developer and Standard Oil co-founder Henry M. Flagler. The hotel was designed in the Spanish Renaissance style, and became the first of its kind to be constructed entirely of pure concrete.

In 1968 the hotel became the centerpiece for the newly founded Flagler College. The Solarium, a fourth-floor parlor above the Rotunda proved to be an excellent amenity of the hotel during the Gilded Age. The doomed, sunlit main room overlooks the courtyard while the two terraces offer views of St. Augustine beaches, the lighthouse, and other attractions.  Please call (904) 823-3378 for more information.
