On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 16 through 18, 2026, enjoy a stage presentation of The War of the Worlds radio play. Both performances begin at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Augustine Waterworks.
The Production
All the Devils Shakespeare presents a staged production of the radio play that terrified some Americans listening when it first aired in 1938. Originally written as a novel by H.G. Wells, the first half of the radio play, directed and narrated by Orson Welles, was presented in a "breaking news" format. Each modern staged production of the radio play often presents the cast in period costumes with realistic commercials.

About All the Devils Shakespeare
The name is from a line from The Tempest: “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.”
Several actors and artists formed this St. Augustine nonprofit theater organization in 2025. The group offers classical professional theater to the public. They choose timeless plays that exude passion, ambition, love, wit, redemption, betrayal, and hope. To fulfill their goal of reaching out to the community, the organization presents productions in several locations in Northeast Florida, including at the Waterworks in St. Augustine.
