CEAM — Rebel Waters / Aguas Rebeldes

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum presents Rebel Waters / Aguas Rebeldes, an exhibit of art created by the mastermind Nicole Antebi. The exhibit opens on Monday, August 31, and continues through Saturday, November 7, 2026. An opening reception is on Friday, September 4, 2026, as part of the First Friday Art Walk, with a private walkthrough with Antebi at 6:00 p.m. The museum is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This Exhibit

Nicole Antebi centers her work around the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo and Santa Cruz River, paying homage to her upbringing in El Paso, Texas, and the Ciudad Juárez, Mexico area. Her exhibit titled Rebel Waters / Aguas Rebeldes highlights the relationships we have with our past cultures through sculpture and animation. It also makes a statement about how political, social, and economic factors affect our landscapes.

She is now an associate professor of illustration and animation at the University of Arizona. Film festivals and other exhibits in the United States and abroad have showcased her work.

About the Crisp-Ellert Museum

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, opened in 2007, exhibits works created by local and international artists, including Flagler College's faculty and students. Showcasing a variety of public programs and cultural exhibitions, the museum also serves as a memorial to its benefactors, Drs. Joann Crisp-Ellert and Richard Ellert. The museum's location, once the home of the Ellerts, was donated to Flagler College.
