The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, in partnership with Flying Saucer Presents, welcomes The Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson in a live performance on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022..

The Fabulous Thunderbirds have held the distinction of being perhaps the quintessential American band, with over 30 years of mixing musical styles, from straight blues and R&B to rock 'n roll, Cajun, and soul. The group's powerful sound is a unique hybrid of these styles, as can be heard in their top-40 hits such as "Tuff Enuff," "Wrap It Up," and "Look at That."

Kim Wilson is the sole original member and the heart and soul of the group. Wilson began playing harmonica at age 17 in Goleta, California. Wilson went on to add vocals to his musical range, influenced by B.B. King, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rodgers and Muddy Waters. He moved to Austin, Texas, where he met Jimmie Vaughan and they founded the T-Birds in 1974. In 1979, The Fabulous Thunderbirds emerged, releasing their self-titled album, which quickly became a cult classic.

Admission: Tickets are $56.50 for Rows A through F, $46.50 for Rows G through Q, and $36.50 for All Remaining Rows.

When: 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022. Gates open at 7 p.m.

Where: The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall located at 1050 A1A North Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.

Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
