The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents indie folk superstars the Indigo Girls in a live concert on Friday, January 24, 2020.
The Grammy-Award-winning indie duo of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers has been playing their indie folk music for the past 20 years, with their first eponymous album released back in 1988. In 1990 they won a Grammy award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. They have toured with numerous renowned acts including Neil Young, Sarah MacLachlan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and R.E.M.
In 2012, the Indigo Girls changed their presentation and musical style, inviting two orchestrators to add a full orchestral sound to their arrangements and then performing with symphonies around the country. They were successful in maintaining the emotional intimacy they have been known for over the years even in these imposing settings. After more than 50 of these live performances, the Indigo Girls have captured this symphonic sound in their most recent album, Indigo Girls Live with the University of Symphony Orchestra. The album was recorded in front of an audience in Boulder, CO and showcases the Indigo Girls at their finest, most personal, and most daring.
