Limelight Theatre: "God of Carnage"

Limelight Theatre presents God of Carnage from Thursday, March 5, through Sunday, March 15, 2026. On Sundays, the show starts at 2:00 p.m.; all the other shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Written by Yasmina Reza, a French playwright, actress, and novelist who is best known for her plays Art and God of Carnage. The God of Carnage focuses on two couples whose sons had a playground fight. The meeting of adults to resolve the issue deteriorates into humorous and biting squabbles between the two couples and between husband and wife. 

Christopher Hampton translated the play into English, and the play premiered in London in March 2008 to wide acclaim. A slightly adjusted "Americanized" version opened on Broadway in 2009, with Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden in the lead roles. All four were nominated for a Tony Award, with Harden winning for Best Leading Actress in a Play. This play has been produced in several countries, including Germany, Spain, Croatia, Ireland, Romania, and Serbia. A film adaptation, produced in 2011, featured Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, Christoph Waltz, and Kate Winslet.

• General admission tickets are $35.00.
• Deal tickets for the first Thursday of each production (Preview Night, July 16) and on one Tuesday (Terrific Tuesday, August 5 ) are $25.00.
• Student "Rush Tickets" are $15.00, when available, 60 minutes before the curtain.
• Box office hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., or purchase tickets online.

When: On Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from Thursday, March 5, through Sunday, March 15. Sunday shows are matinees and start at 2:00 p.m. The performances on all other days begin at 7:30 p.m. Preview Thursday is March 5.
