Historian, author, and actor Dianne Jacoby brings Miss Louisa Fatio to life in this performance at the St. Augustine Waterworks on July 15, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The presentation focuses on the years Miss Louisa ran a very successful boarding home in St. Augustine, now known as the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum. If you've toured the museum, you know that a succession of women owned and managed the boarding house during the 1800s. Before coming to St. Augustine, Miss Louisa and her family fled the Seminole Indians in 1812, when she was only 15. For many years, the family would start again in a new location, only to have their home destroyed by a hurricane or fire.

Miss Louisa ultimately moved to St. Augustine and used her skills to operate a boarding house that became famous for its lodging and service. Dianne Jacoby has meticulously researched Miss Louisa's life, portraying the businesswoman who manages her property, providing the perfect hostess services while relating her own story to fortunate travelers.
