The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, in partnership with Flying Saucer Presents, hosts charismatic roots-rock singer-songwriter Paul Thorn and His Band in concert on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 8:00 p.m.

Paul Thorn's songwriting talent, distinct voice, and stage presence have earned praise and popularity for this roots-rock songwriter and performer. With his latest release, Don't Let the Devil Ride, Thorn has returned to his gospel roots. His father was a bishop in a Pentecostal church, and Thorn was only three when he began singing and playing tambourine at services. Thorn recalls that his most memorable experiences singing gospel were with an African-American branch of his father's church, the Okolona Sunrise Church of Prophecy. Of these experiences, he says: "I loved the Appalachian gospel of my parents' church, but it was a treat to play with those musicians. They worshiped in a different way and the music was different, and I feel blessed to have been in that church setting."

Thorn is an accomplished showman, able to keep an audience entranced with the stories he tells as well as his music. He is also a former professional boxer, sky diver, and accomplished painter.
