PechaKucha: Slow Down

St. Augustine chapter of PechaKucha presents their next event at a new venue, The Venue at Historic Stanton Ford in Hastings, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. The presenters begin at 7:00 p.m., with local speakers sharing their stories on the evening's theme. May's theme is "Slow Down," and it's always surprising how the seven to ten speakers bend the night's topic to tell their story or share their experiences.

For 13 years, the St. Augustine chapter of PechaKucha has presented local people sharing personal stories and photos. At PK events, pre-selected presenters discuss their thoughts on the evening's theme, while each of their 20 slides appears on a screen for 20 seconds before moving on to the next slide. This 20X20 format enables each presenter to have six minutes and 40 seconds to tell their story. 

At every PechaKucha Night, you can expect to learn, laugh, empathize, and even be surprised. During recent PechaKucha events, we've learned about the importance of the arts in education, strong family women, the joy of creating art for no reason, the team that's working to eradicate an invasive plant in Anastasia State Park, and new ways and reasons to play music for enjoyment.

The New Venue

The Historic Stanton Ford building has recently been renovated and is now open for weddings, local markets, special events and celebrations as well as the May edition of PechaKucha. 

The Evening's Schedule

Admission: Free with a suggested donation of $20.00. The event will be indoors, and chairs are provided.
