Romanza Presents ...

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents the Elite First Coast Flute Choir at the St. Augustine Waterworks.

About the Program

For this concert, the flute choir focuses on music from film and television. Imagine some of the most iconic scores performed by a choir of flutists. In keeping with the screen theme, the choir also performs an original work, "Popcorn." Julie Stone composed the piece, using the Morse code rhythms of the letters P-O-P-C-O-R-N, in 3/8 time.

They will serve popcorn at this event.

About the Flute Choir

Flutists from Northeast Florida formed the ensemble in 2014 to provide an outlet for their music and to reach out to the community. Members with diverse experiences and careers work together to create and perform exemplary music that reflects different cultural heritages, musical styles, and eras.

If you haven't seen a flute choir, you may not realize the variety of flutes available: piccolo, C flute, alto flute in G, bass flute, and contrabass flute. The Elite First Coast Choir has performed in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Orange Park. They will perform at the National Flute Association Convention in Atlanta in August 2025.
