    A Shrimp Boil and Book Signing Benefit for the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum will be held at Johnny and Beanie's Kitchen in Hastings, Florida.

    This event will include delicious shrimp as well as the chance to meet author and St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum archaeologist, Brendan Burke.

    Burke is the author of the book, Shrimp Boat City. The books spans over 100 years of St. Augustine's commercial shrimping and boat building history. The book traces fishing families behind the shrimping boom to the innovators at Diesel Engine Sales, Co. (DESCO) who built thousands of boats shipped all over the world.

    Burke will be available for questions and to sign copies of the book, Shrimp Boat City. Johnny and Beanie's Kitchen will be cranking out tasty shrimp boil to go along with this shrimp oriented event! This restaurant offers a home-style atmosphere serving Southern, Minorcan and fresh food located in downtown Hastings.

    Admission: Tickets are $10

    Shrimp Boat City is available for $24.95 in the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum gift shop and online. Proceeds from the book benefit the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to preserving maritime history and providing educational maritime programs. Visit the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum to see model shrimp boats, photos, videos and other memorabilia from St. Augustine's shrimping past.
