The St. Augustine Film Society presents a screening of the Macedonian documentary, Honeyland (2019), on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterworks.

Written and directed by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov, this award-winning story analyzes the human response towards natural resources. The last female beekeeper in Europe must save the bees in the remote mountains of North Macedonia through ancient traditions and honey cultivation. Problems arise once a nomadic family tries to copy her techniques, ultimately ignoring her years of wisdom.

Admission: $10.00 for the public. Students and St. Augustine Film Society members are free.

When: Friday, May 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks is at 184 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, Florida 32084.

Getting There: While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit Only, so it is not available to access the Waterworks. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot, on the opposite side of the complex. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)
