The St. Augustine Film Society hosts a showing of the documentary, Last of the Right Whales (2021) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Yacht Club. This family-friendly event is a part of the ECO Cinema Film Series and partners with Beaches Go Green.

Written and directed by Nadine Pequeneza, you get an insight into the rapid decline of the North Atlantic right whale. Due to the current state of climate change, these whales have been forced to swim further north. They have since come into contact with ships and become entangled in fishing gear/nets, threatening their chance of survival. With migration routes and patterns being disrupted, the film calls for action to save the species before it's too late.

A discussion with local experts will be held after the screening. Food and drinks are also available for purchase.
