The St. Augustine Film Society hosts a showing of the Japanese animated fantasy Spirited Away (2001) on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterworks.

This highly awarded and nominated Studio Ghibli feature, written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, has won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film. The story follows a young girl, Chihiro, and her family as they travel to the suburbs. After taking a shortcut to an amusement park, the parents are magically transformed into pigs. To free them and herself, Chihiro must work in this world of strange spirits and supernatural beings.

Admission: $10.00 for the public. St. Augustine Film Society members are free.

When: Friday, April 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks is at 184 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, Florida 32084.

Getting There: While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit Only, so it is not available to access the Waterworks. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot, on the opposite side of the complex. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)
