On Friday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Temple Bet Yam, the congregation and the St. Augustine Film Society will present an evening to honor and remember the rabbis who traveled to St. Augustine in 1964.

Justice, Justice 1964 (Journey to St. Augustine) tells the stories of several of the 26 rabbis who traveled from other states to march in St. Augustine with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Andrew Young, and others. Dr. King had sent Rabbi Isreal Dresner a letter asking him to bring rabbis to St. Augustine to be arrested and witnesses to what was happening to Black Americans in St. Augustine in 1964. The film was produced in honor of the 50th anniversary of that march and the subsequent arrest of many of the rabbis.

The producer of this movie, singer/songwriter Rob Tobias, will lead a discussion after the film. He will also sing Civil Rights era music and Jewish Renewal and folk-pop original songs.

Admission: $5.00 Tickets can be purchased in advance, here.

When: Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Where: Temple Bet Yam, 2055 Wildwood Drive, St. Augustine Florida 32086
