The Northeast Florida Wahoo Shootout begins with a Captain's Meeting on Saturday, January 31, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m., at Ancient City Farmstead in St. Augustine.

This is an open tournament, with each captain choosing two days of fishing between February 7 and March 22, 2026. Registered captains text 904-544-2262 to declare a fishing day. 

The Tournament

Fishing must take place in the Atlantic Ocean in U.S. Waters, from 27.50.oo N (near Fort Pierce) to 31.50.00 N. (near Jacksonville). 

Weigh-ins take place at Strike-Zone Fishing in Jacksonville or Melbourne between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. on the day the fish was caught or between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on the following day. (Sunday weigh-in is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) You are required to take a digital photo of the fish with the boat's tournament number immediately after the fish is landed. 

The overall winner has the heaviest three-fish aggregate.

Admission: Entry fees start at $600.00 per boat for early entry, and increase on January 1, 2026, and again on February 6, 2026.  Go here for more information and to register online. 

When: The Captains' meeting takes place on Saturday, January 31, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Call (904) 222-1042 or visit the Ancient City Game Fish Association for more information. This open tournament runs from February 7 through March 22, 2026, with each captain choosing two days of fishing during that time.
