A well-loved trademark of the music scene with an enthusiastic following, St. Augustine, Florida's Dewey Via and The Moses Creek Band combines rock and roll, bluegrass, country, alternative country, and southern rock to form a distinguished and musically passionate ensemble. Known through and through for their fervor and thoroughness, this six-piece group is the epitome of musical kin. The band's cover song setlist includes an incredibly eclectic selection of artists from John Anderson and Ziggy Stardust to Hank Williams and Jimi Hendrix. The group's first record is a live album recorded at the historic Tradewinds Tropical Lounge where legends Odetta and Jimmy Buffet have performed, and features both cover songs as well as the band's locally well-known and often requested original material. One can hear the crowd in the background of each track, hanging on to every musical note as if no one wants the song to end. With a sound and stage presence like theirs, that's no surprise.

Lead vocalist, acoustic guitarist, and lead songwriter Dewey Via who grew up listening to and learning from his incredibly talented musical family. He formed a duo with his sister at 8 years old and eventually went on to become a worship music director at the age of 26 for over a decade. After picking his way through North and South Carolina, Dewey settled in the city of St. Augustine almost twelve years ago. Together with Steve Switkin on bass guitar, Lisa Mack on keyboards, Kimberly Zielinski on fiddle, T.R. Zielinski on second fiddle, and drummer Jon Farmer, the six-piece band forms a hoot-and-holler ensemble with a wickedly high-energy stage presence. Spellbinding and magnetic, Dewey and The Moses Creek Band is a diverse spectrum of genre that naturally braids together to build a musical structure that never fails to impress.
