Kairos Creature Club

Off-the-beat Jacksonville band with Krautrock and Trash Pop influences.

Kairos Creature Club, founded by Jacksonville locals Lena Simon and Glenn Michael Van Dyke, brings to the stage a kaleidoscope of cerebral music experimentation and artistic rebellion. With a DIY attitude, the group combines krautrock and trash pop elements that resonate with listeners who have a rebellious streak.

Kairos Creature Club uses synthetic sounds to create a sonic signature that refuses to sit squarely in any single genre. The band's unbridled creativity transcends the conventions of mainstream music, all the while piecing together powerful hooks and melodies.

Ellen Moseley writes honest songs — sometimes about things that make us smile, sometimes about the harsher side of life. She excels at simple, unexpected, and descriptive lyrics. Christiana Patterson has played her violin with several groups and Northeast Florida musicians, including the Wobbly Toms and Ghost Tropic. Since Ellen and Christiana are both "lefties," they named their duo SouthPaw.

GREENNESS

A mythical math rock four-piece based in St. Augustine.

You never quite know when GREENNESS will next take to the stage. Created in 2004, this Florida-based band creates instrumental tracks with a math rock flare. Their sounds fill the venue like a mage’s spell or a heavy mist through the swamp. Licks that layer, clash, and linger meet bursting percussion in each of their songs. Indeed, the cover for GREENNESS’s track “In Fond Remembrance of Doug Keith. Wait, He’s Still Alive. I Need to Call Him.” features a collage of skateboarders  — an appropriate visualization of the band’s sound, which could be described as ‘organized chaos.’
