Carpetbaggers

This group of solo and session musicians have a lot of fun sharing their music.

The Carpetbaggers, who all moved here from elsewhere in the country, appropriated that name when a few local musicians at gigs jokingly accused them of being carpetbaggers. David Watt Besley (Georgia), Tony Scozzaro (New York), Sue Seymour Westcott (Georgia, Hawaii, and Virginia), and Frankie Urzetta (New York) took the mildly pejorative label and promptly named their band.

Christian Powers

Christian grew up in St. Augustine and has been equally influenced by the Old City's music scene and beaches.

Christian Powers began studying music while very young and is an adept band member and drummer as well as a singer/songwriter and solo performer.

The songs he covers are dominated by singer/songwriters who are strong solo performers — such as Ray Lamontagne, Bill Withers, and surfer/songwriter Donovan Frankenreiter. Like Donovan, Christian is also a surfer and a sailor, and his love of the sea is often reflected in the songs he writes.
