Bird Island Park

The first park travelers see heading south along the Scenic A1A Byway, Bird Island Park features an entrance gazebo that leads into a winding trail taking park guests past water features and examples of native hammocks. Visitors experience a sample of a Northeast Florida ecosystem highlighting the native flora and fauna. The hedged sea turtle maze provides shade trees and four art-adorned benches in the center for visitors to relax and enjoy their surroundings.

Bird Island Park also features a story telling area with benches and a small amphitheater enhanced with mosaic tiles and shade trees. A boardwalk encircles the pond that features Bird Island in the center, a second gazebo on the waterfront, and a play area for children.

The handicapped accessible sidewalk winds around the entire park.
