Where does cycling meet the water?
At Old Town Cycle Cruise located at the Beaches at Vilano Restaurant. This thoroughly modern and largely people-powered, paddle-wheel vessel offers a party on the Mantazas while touring the waterfront of St. Augustine.
This locally-owned Old Town Cycle Cruise offers cycleboat tours on the water aboard new 35-foot pedal-powered pontoon boats. The Captain steers the boat, while 12 of the passengers provide the power by pedaling. (In case of pedal-fatigue, the boats have a motor and the captain can take over while all of the passengers enjoy the sights.)
The boat is USCG approved and has a licensed Captain and crew. Their original boat, the Atocha I cycleboat holds 20 passengers, while Atocha II holds 26. There are pedaling stations for 12 with bench seating for non-pedaling passengers around the boat. All ages are welcome.
Charters and public mixer tours are available, and Old Town Cycle Cruise has special trips each season, including Nights of Lights. All cruises are BYOB, and guests are invited to bring their favorite libations and snacks on board. The crew provides coolers, ice, party props, and music.
Types of Tours Offered
Old Town Cycle Cruise offers private tours as well as a Public Mixer Tour for those who don't have enough to fill a trip. Whether with old friends or brand new ones, guests aboard each of these boats find that sipping a beverage while peddling down the Matanzas, creates the perfect atmosphere for sharing stories and having fun.
Their Day Cruisin' Tour allows the passengers and those who pedal to view St. Augustine's iconic waterfront, while sipping, peddling, and snapping photos and selfies featuring the Castillo de San Marcos and the Bridge of Lions.
Old Town Cycle Cruise also offers a Sunset Tour where sipping and pedaling occur while passengers view historic St. Augustine against the amazing red, pink, crimson, and scarlet Florida sunset.
During their regular season, Old Town Cycle Cruise offers their Rhythm of the Night Tour, a festival on the water. Guests can glide along, pedal, and sip to celebrate a special occasion — or just the occasion of being in St. Augustine on the water on a beautiful, warm, night. (The Rhythm of the Night Tours are not available during the Nights of Lights Celebration.)
Special and Seasonal Tours
Of course, Old Town Cycle Cruise will accommodate your special event with a private charter. The cycleboat seats up to 26, with 12 pedaling stations, and is perfect for corporate events, reunions, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday parties, or simply a Sunday Brunch for a family or special group of friends.
During St. Augustine's Nights of Lights festival, nothing beats seeing St. Augustine's lights from the water. Old Town Cycle Cruise offers their Holly Jolly Yachty Tour. The Captain will navigate the Matanzas after dark, guiding the boat where guests will have excellent views of St. Augustine in Nights of Lights splendor. Holly Jolly Yachty Tours are available at 6:30, 8:30, and 10:30 p.m.
