STAR Circulator Bus 

STAR Circulator — short for St. Augustine (STA) Rider — provides free rides in St. Augustine's Historic Downtown and from several points on Anastasia Island. Operating from mid-morning to 9:00 or 10:00 p.m., these blue-and-white buses start at the turnaround between the parking garage and the Visitor Information Center, make two stops downtown, and then cross the Bridge of Lions to circulate a route on Anastasia Island before heading back downtown.

This is a free bus, available to visitors and locals. Along the route, the bus stops only at designated locations. There is no written schedule. The first bus starts at 9:00 a.m. each morning, stops at each location, returns to the Visitor Information Center, and sets out again. The last route each day starts at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and at 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday

The Route

The route starts at the turnaround at the Visitor Information Center, at the north end of Cordova Street. The bus turns left onto Orange Street, and stops on the bayfront at 14 Avenida Menendez. After a short wait, the bus continues along the waterfront before turning up Cathedral Place, stopping again midway between St. George and Cordova Streets. 

After the stop on Cathedral Place, the bus crosses the Bridge of Lions, stopping at several locations on Anastasia Island, and turning back toward town at the Quality Inn. 

This service is great for those who want to dine or visit the beach from downtown, and for those staying at hotels on Anastasia Island who want to visit the city. Each stop is on a specific side of the street, which is particularly important along A1A. 

Five Things to Know:

1. The bus does not stop for passengers between the specially designated pick-up/drop-off locations.
2. Passengers may only complete one circuit and get off at the end. They can reboard later.
3. The last bus leaves the Visitor Information Center at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and at 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
4. Bus hours may vary on holidays and during Nights of Lights.
5. One bus is wheelchair accessible.
