The yellow doors to the Alcazar Room are entered from the courtyard

Alcazar Room

This room is accessed from the center courtyard, and is west of the footbridge.

The Alcazar Room at 75 King Street, located in the Lightner and City Hall building, is accessed via the courtyard. Not to be confused with the Café Alcazar, the Alcazar Room is a public meeting room for the City of St. Augustine. Long-time residents who have attended meetings and hearings with the City are familiar with the room.

As an event space, the Alcazar Room has been used by the adjacent Lightner Museum for public presentations. It is also one of the screening rooms for the annual St. Augustine Film Festival. This rectangular-shaped space has chairs arranged -- theater style -- for viewing the screen.

Like Café Alcazar, the room carries the name of the former Hotel Alcazar, a Flagler hotel property that opened in 1889.
