Maverick rock legend Ann Wilson (Heart) will perform June 27, 2021, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

Simply one of the greatest voices in rock n' roll history, Wilson has been performing for more than 40 years. As lead singer of the female powerhouse band Heart, Ann and sister, Nancy, proved that women could dominate the rock stage at a time when few even attempted.

Growing up in 1960s Seattle, the sisters turned to music at an early age. Sunday mornings were filled with everything from classical music to Ray Charles to early experimental electronic music.

An early fascination with blues-based music led Ann to the discovery of Robert Plant, lead singer and lyricists for the English-based band Led Zeppelin. Borrowing his howls and wails, but putting her own female stamp on them, Ann climbed into the annals of rock history as quickly as Heart's albums rose through the charts.

The first rock band fronted by women, Heart released numerous albums in the '70s and '80s and pumped out massive hits like "Barracuda," Crazy on You" and "Magic Man" year after year.

As a solo performer, Ann revisits the bluesy fertile ground that gave rise to her one-of-a kind voice. Bringing intimacy to the stage and breaking hearts along the way, Ann carries an audience through a range of emotion from heartbreak to all-night party in one evening of truly riveting music.
