Active since 1989 and formed in Ventura, California, by vocalist and guitarist Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy played a key role in the jump blues and swing revival movement of the 1990s. The current lineup includes Scotty Morris (lead vocals and guitar), Kurt Sodergren (drums), Dirk Shumaker (double bass and vocals), Andy Rowley (baritone saxophone and vocals), Glen "The Kid" Marhevka (trumpet), Karl Hunter (saxophones and clarinet), and Joshua Levy (piano and arranger).
Mainly known for "Mr. Pinstripe Suit," "King of Swing," and "Why Me?" the band continues to garner more than 233,000 fans and listeners on Spotify and other streaming platforms. Their breakout music from the soundtrack Swingers helped launch Vince Vaughn and John Favreau's careers while introducing the band to a national audience.
Since then, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has maintained a relentless touring schedule, performing hundreds of shows yearly, and has sold more than two million albums. Their discography includes Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, American Deluxe, This Beautiful Life, Save My Soul, and How Big Can You Get? The Music of Cab Calloway, Rattle Them Bones, and their most recent album, Louie, Louie, Louie.
