The St. Augustine Amphitheatre presents seminal alt-rock group Blue October in a live concert on the Backyard Stage on Saturday, August 15, 2020.
Blue October has changed in recent years and is now made up of Ryan Delahoussaye (multi-instrumentalist), Matt Noveskey (bass), and brothers Jeremy and Fustin Furstenfeld (drummer and front man). Once known for their moody, even self-destructive overtones, the band has gone full circle and can now be described as overwhelmingly positive, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. "We've had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and we've come out the other side," says bassist Matt Noveskey. Their most recent release, with the title track "I Hope You're Happy," is evidence of the transformation.
The soon-to-be-released documentary, "Get Back Up," chronicles the band's radical change. It will be released in May 2020.
