The St. Augustine Art Association is offering a mixed media workshop on "Creating Touchable Art" from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018. The workshop will focus on creating works of art that engage the blind through touch, with the goal of entering those pieces into the Art Association's 17th Annual Tactile Art Show, which will be held from October 5 through 28, 2018.

The workshop will be led by professional art educator Diane Bradley, who specializes in tactile art techniques. The fee for the workshop is $10 per person, which includes supplies. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches.

The Tactile Art Show is part of the global Art Beyond Sight initiative to make art more accessible.  Students from Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind tour the local exhibit and create the Braille signage for the installation.

Admission: $10 per participant, which includes supplies.
