Flagler Lecture: Elaine Bleakney

Author and poet Elaine Bleakney will discuss her work at this Flagler College Writers in Residence lecture.

As part of its continuing Writers-in-Residence series, Flagler College presents a lecture and discussion by a author and editor Elaine Bleakney on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum

Elaine Bleakney is the author of two works of prose poetry: For Another Writing Back and 20 Paintings by Laura Owens. Her writing has appeared in American Poetry Review, Gulf Coast, Kenyon Review, Verse Daily, The Volta and others.

She is an editor of the poetry anthology, Poem in Your Pocket, and editor-at-large for At Length. In 2013, Elaine was one of 15 artists selected to take part in the Little Brown Mushroom Camp for Socially Awkward Storytellers held at photographer Alec Soth's Minneapolis studio.

A native of Arizona, Elaine was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and now lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She works at the Penland School of Crafts. She has taught poetry writing at Flagler College and at the University of California at Irvine.

Admission is free.

When? The lecture and discussion will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 7 p.m.

Where? The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum is located on the Flagler College campus at 48 Sevilla St. in downtown St. Augustine.
