Flagler County's River to Sea Preserve leads a guided hike on one Wednesday each month.

Visitors can stroll along a 1.2-mile trail through the wooded coastal hammock to the Matanzas River. Guests will learn about nature's bountiful vegetation and observe signs of wildlife. Interpretive guides share tales of Native American lore, including how native tribes used various plants for food and medicinal purposes. Marineland is located along the Guana Tolomato Matanzas (GTM) National Estuarine Research Reserve, which is part of a system of 26 protected coastal areas in the U.S.

Participants are asked to meet their guide in the River to Sea Preserve parking lot and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Reservations are required. For reservations, call (904) 823-4500 or visit here.
