The St. Augustine Art Association presents "La Vie En Bleu: The Life & Art of Marguerite Castaing" on July 1, 2022. The free exhibit runs through August 21, 2022.

Born in southern France in 1900, Marguerite Castaing was taught painting by her father when she was 6 years old. At 16, she was accepted into the French Salon and exhibited there for over 2 decades. She is quoted as saying: "I see blue all over—the impressionists showed me the color …" In 1942 she, her husband, and son left Nazi-occupied France and moved to the U.S. Intrigued by the places and landscapes of her new home, she worked in oils, ink, and pastels. She completed each work—whether landscapes or New England seasons—with precision and detail.

The St. Augustine Art Association was gifted with her some of her works upon the death of her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Dardenne, a long-time member of STAA. The exhibit showcases 80 drawings, pastels, and paintings.

Admission: Free, but donations are welcomed.
