Founded in 1984 to help feed the hungry, the St. Augustine Society moved to Washington Street in 1985 and began offering services at St. Francis House. Their mission has expanded to include shelters for men and women, SOS Street Outreach for adults and youth, and Port in the Storm services for homeless and unaccompanied youth. Today, the St. Augustine Society helps change lives for the better for unhoused youth, families, and adults.
