Lightner Museum presents another in their "Lightner Local" series, featuring photographer Lenny Foster's celebration of the magnolia.

Many magnolia trees decorate the Oldest City, most of the species Magnolia Grandiflora, and several are more than 100 years old. Photographer Lenny Foster spent seven years creating a photographic study of the magnolia trees in St. Augustine. His work includes views of the blooms against various backgrounds, held in a hand, and close-up photos revealing the intricate detail of the plant's textures.

Lenny Foster ran a gallery in New Mexico for years, and his work has been displayed in several collections and museums, including the Harwood Museum, the Snite Museum of Notre Dame, and the Albuquerque Museum. Now living in St. Augustine, Lenny shows his work in his Gallery One Forty-Four on King Street. There, he features his photos of collections of seascapes and magnolias as well as his series Where We Stand, exploring African American History in St. Augustine.
