The Lightner Museum presents artist Dana Hargrove's Iceland Series exhibit from April 1 to May 20, 2022, in the museum's grand ballroom gallery.

A professor of Studio Art at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, Hargrove concerns herself with ideas that frame our perceptions of the land and our sense of place and space. The Iceland Series is the result of the artist's time in Northern Iceland.

Hargrove's intimate series of watercolor paintings evoke the varied landscape of Iceland, from tarmac to gravel, mossy grass to mud, sharp rocks to delicate mountain flowers, and cushioning heather. Her spatially illusionistic representations offer synthesized versions of the natural landscape, where organic forms are tamed and organized to highlight mankind's ongoing subordination of nature.

Admission: $17 adults; $14 college students and seniors; $10 youth ages 12-17; free for children 11 and under.

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Saturday, April 2 to Friday, May 20, 2022

Where: The Lightner Museum is located at 75 King St. in historic downtown St. Augustine.
