 The Lightner Museum presents Descent — An Atlas of Relation, by artist Dawn Roe, beginning with an opening reception from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023, and continuing daily through January 28, 2024.

Originally from Michigan, Dawn Roe is a Professor of Studio Art at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Her work uses photography, videography, and film modalities to create art that she hopes will increase social understanding of our environment. 

In her ongoing project titled "DESCENT ≈ An Atlas of Relation," she explores the enduring relationship between fish and the planet, spanning millions of years as they contend with the constant battle for survival. Through this project, she contemplates the coexistence of human and non-human entities amidst the ever-changing global climate.

Admission: $17.00 for adults; $14.00 for college students and seniors; $10.00 for youth ages 12-17; free for children 11 and under

When:  The opening reception is from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023. The exhibit will continue through January 28, 2024

Where: The Lightner Museum is located at 75 King St. in historic downtown St. Augustine.

The Museum is generally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. They are closed on New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
