Lincolnville Jazz at the Excelsior

This series of eight jazz concerts over four months will feature several of the finest musical artists in the region.

  • The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center will host a series of jazz concerts at 7:30 p.m.. on select Friday nights from January 14, to April 29, 2022.

    The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was formerly the historic Excelsior High School, the first public high school for African-Americans in St. Augustine. Lincolnville Jazz at the Excelsior will feature a number of highly regarded and talented artists, including Jacksonville native jazz and blues favorite Mama Blue, the live jazz fusion band Eric Carter & Company, the instrumental group Catch the Groove and the classically trained jazz and soul vocalist Akia Uwanda.

    All the concerts take place on a Friday and begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

    Here is the line-up for 2022:

    January 14 — Mama Blue: Jazz: Blues Favorites

    February 11 — Eric Carter & Company: Live Jazz Fusion

    February 26 (Saturday) — Longineu Parsons

    March 11 — Marcus Click

    March 25 — Catch the Groove: Jazz Vocals

    April 8 — Party in Box

    April 29 — Akia Uwanda

    When: Eight performances on Fridays from January through April 2022: January 14, February 11 and 26 (Saturday), March 11 and 25, April 8 and 29, 2022.
